The Muslims are divided into two major sects, namely SUNNIS and SHIAS. These two are major sects but there are some other sects in Muslims.
There is another class of Muhammadan called MOTAZILA. There is a political difference between SUNNIS and SHIAS.
The Sunnis wanted the next leader after Prophet Mohammad to be elected by vote.
The Shias wanted the next leader after Prophet Mohammad to be the descendants of the Prophet.
This political difference came up through the case Rajah Deedar Hossein vs. Ranee Zuhoor, 1841.
SCHOOLS OF MUSLIM LAW
The various schools of Muslim law are as follows-
1. Sunni school
2. Shia school
